Overview
We offer you an exceptional full-day 4×4 excursion to experience the charm of the Petit Sahara, not far from Agadir.
The Souss Massa National Park, a narrow stretch of land (33,800 hectares) along the Atlantic coast, is a vital wetland serving as a migratory stopover and wintering ground for many species of migratory and nesting birds — including cormorants, herons, white spoonbills, glossy ibises, flamingos, and storks.
The last wild colony of Northern Bald Ibis in the world nests on the high, peaceful cliffs of the park. These birds thrive here thanks to the abundance of insects, small lizards, and the mild climate.

First stop at a traditional and artisanal pottery workshop (optional). Discover the various stages of pottery making with explanations and photo opportunities.
We continue along the southern road and take the turnoff to the right towards the traditional fishermen’s village of Tifnit — partially demolished by authorities at the beginning of 2024 due to unauthorized construction within the maritime public domain.
We’ll stop here for some photos and enjoy a short walk along the beach to take in the natural scenery, small motorized fishing boats, and fresh catches of the day.
Afterward, we continue toward the village of Sidi Rbat, following a sandy track that runs along the wild Atlantic coastline (20 km – around 2 hours on track).
These Troglodyte Houses, carved into the cliff facing the ocean, serve as shelter for fishermen, allowing them to stay for a few days by the sea while fishing and keeping their equipment and belongings close by. Once a week, they return to their families in a nearby village.
Unfortunately, they were also demolished by the authorities at the beginning of 2024 due to unauthorized construction in the maritime public domain.
We pass through the village of Sidi Rbat and head down to the mouth of the Oued Massa, where a beautiful lagoon is formed by the meeting of the river and the Atlantic Ocean. This unique area is part of the Souss Massa National Park, and it serves as a vital sanctuary for many migratory bird species — including the Northern Bald Ibis, one of the rarest birds in the world.
The lush greenery offered by the river’s mouth creates a striking contrast with the surrounding arid landscape, making this a truly remarkable and peaceful natural site.
The Oued Massa Estuary has been listed as a Ramsar Site since January 2005. Located along one of the main migratory routes for waterbirds, it plays a crucial role in the conservation of biodiversity — particularly waterbirds.
The Ramsar Convention, an international treaty on wetlands of international importance, aims to halt the loss and degradation of these habitats by recognizing their essential ecological functions as well as their economic, cultural, scientific, and recreational value — for today and for future generations.
Photo stop at the top viewpoint of the rocky hill to admire the impressive Youssef Ben Tachefine Dam and discover this large artificial lake, which holds a capacity of 300 million cubic meters of water. Nestled in the heart of a semi-desert landscape, the dam offers a striking contrast between the vast arid surroundings and the calm blue waters — a perfect spot to appreciate nature and take in the panoramic views.
We then drive down towards a traditional Berber village, taking a short off-road path. A well-deserved reward awaits you — a typical Berber lunch served in a warm and authentic family atmosphere. After enjoying a relaxing tea break, the adventure continues through the beautiful and ever-changing landscapes of the region.
A short getaway to the fine, ochre-colored sand dunes, where you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the small desert. Capture the stunning scenery with some memorable photos as you immerse yourself in the tranquility of the desert landscape.
Tiznit, located 100 km south of Agadir, is a charming town surrounded by 6 km of ramparts. Known across Morocco for its skilled artisans who craft silver jewelry, you can visit a Silver Jewelry Factory (optional) to witness the craftsmanship of the jewelers. Afterward, enjoy a brief tour of the town's ramparts and explore the Medina by car, before returning leisurely to Agadir.
The lunch at the local's house costs 10€ per person and 5€ per child (under 10 years old).
